Grant programmes

The Rothschild Foundation is currently undergoing a strategic review of its grant making programmes. During this time, we are only accepting applications under our Local and community initiatives programme.

Open-access programmes

Local and community initiaitives

Small grants of up to £5,000 are made for projects in the broad field of social welfare. Priority is given to projects benefitting people within 10 miles of the Waddesdon Estate. Follow the link to view a map of the local grants programme area. Small and medium charities are generally prioritised for funding, rather than large national charities. Grants are usually made for specific programme related costs or, in the case of smaller charities, core costs. Capital projects are less likely to be funded, unless small in scale (e.g. equipment or minor refurbishments).

Closed-access programmes

Proactive grant-making

Larger grants are made through our proactive work, where we identify charities to partner with in our areas of interest. We do not accept unsolicited applications for this programme.
