Rothschild Foundation Lecture at the Royal Academy

11 October 2018

The inaugural Rothschild Foundation Lecture was given by Dr Demis Hassabis, Co-Founder & CEO of DeepMind, on Monday 17th September to a sold-out audience in the RA’s new Benjamin West Lecture Theatre.

Founded in London in 2010, DeepMind is the world leader in artificial intelligence research, developing general-purpose learning algorithms and using them to help tackle some of the world’s most pressing challenges.

Dr Hassabis drew on his eclectic experiences as an AI researcher, neuroscientist and videogame designer to discuss the implications of cutting-edge AI research for creativity and scientific discovery.

The lecture was followed by a conversation and Q&A with the RA’s Artistic Director, Tim Marlow, and is available to view below.
